Key Responsibilities
- You will assist the Director in shaping that strategy and agenda of BNE.
- Working closely with the Chairman, Director and Executive of BNE, you will be responsible for developing and delivering BNE?s media and public affairs strategy.
- You will be responsible for developing and maintaining BNE?s relationships with key journalists, broadcast producers and other relevant press and media contacts.
- You will assist with developing and maintaining relationships with BNE?s advisory council members, and other stakeholders in the public and private sectors.
- You will take a lead on organising events in London and Brussels, and at political party conferences in the UK with the assistance of the rest of the BNE team.
- You will be responsible for internal briefings on policies relating to the UK and EU relationship.
- You will assist with remarks and briefing notes for both internal and external.
- You will be responsible for managing BNE?s online presence and contacts database.
- You will assist with BNE?s research and publications programme.
- You will strive to be a recognised and respected authority on European affairs by all relevant and influential political and public policy officials.

Candidate requirements
- The role requires someone who has a strong desire to engage with the press and media, and build BNE?s media profile.? Previous experience of working on the media, press and public affairs agenda of an organisation required.
- Experience of working on campaigns to influence policy or change public opinion.
- A good network of contacts in the media and political spheres with a desire to expand that.
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.? The ability to express ideas persuasively, concisely and completely.
- Strong project management skills.? The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to work effectively to tight deadlines or at short notice.? Flexibility and willingness to go the extra mile.
- Strong interpersonal skills combined with the ability to work independently or as part of a small team.
