OSWEGO -- It was a successful holiday weekend in Oswego after the city's festivities wrapped up with the 50th Independence Day parade.

Veterans, local officials, and musicians marched along the parade route. According to parade viewers, the event is one of the best of the year.

"Well, I enjoy the bands, I like to hear the different kinds of music and sounds," said Carl Sanders, a spectator.

Another spectator, Keilaya Leyva, added, "I'm looking forward to getting some candy and stuff."

The parade theme this year was 50 years of family, fun and fireworks.
